How Stepwise Tap Works
Install inline on the dedicated circuit between panel and EV / appliance.
Tap monitors the mains and dynamically manages load to stay within 80% of service rating.
Keeps the job under capacity so you avoid panel upgrades and still meet code.
Unlike simple on/off devices, Tap uses dynamic load management to adjust power in real time for smooth charging and home operation

Dynamic Load Management (DLM) optimizes electricity use by shifting electric capacity between appliances in real time. It prevents overloads, reduces costs, and enables efficient energy use. Stepwise uses DLM to let homeowners install EV chargers and other high-power devices without expensive panel upgrades.
Today, Stepwise uses Dynamic Load Management on Level-2 chargers, including Wallbox, Tesla, and Grizz-le chargers. All other level 2 chargers and outlets can be load shed at this time. Additional chargers will be available for DLM in the near future.
